WIPO Members Discuss Patent Law Harmonization

Law360, New York (May 25, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The countries that make up the World Intellectual Property Organization are discussing ways to further harmonize their patent laws, including criteria for evaluating whether an invention is novel and industrially applicable.

WIPO members met in Geneva from May 10 to 14, 2004, to discuss future directions for international harmonization of patent law and to review provisions of a draft Substantive Patent Law Treaty (SPLT).
