ITC Again Chucks Ruling In Semiconductor IP Spat

Law360, New York (February 22, 2010, 3:53 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has again sent a patent dispute between Carsem and Amkor Technology Inc. over semiconductor technology back to an administrative law judge, this time with an explicit message: You got it wrong.

In a notice issued Thursday, ITC head Marilyn R. Abbott said that Administrative Law Judge Charles E. Bullock erred when, on remand, he discounted evidence that an Amkor patent on semiconductor packaging was invalidated by an earlier ASAT Inc. invention.
