Amazon Settles Adult Web Site's Copyright Claims

Law360, New York (February 23, 2010, 4:45 PM ET) -- Following the lead of Microsoft Corp., Amazon.com Inc. has settled a copyright infringement suit brought by adult content Web site Perfect 10 Inc. over the display of thumbnail images of pirated photographs, though Perfect 10's similar suit against Google Inc. remains pending.

At a hearing Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, lawyers for Amazon and Perfect 10 said they had agreed to settle the lawsuit over Amazon search engines A9.com and Alexa.com, but declined to give further details.
