Micron Unit Dropped From Suit Over Memory Patents

Law360, New York (February 25, 2010, 4:04 PM ET) -- Ring Technology Enterprises of Texas LLC has agreed to drop a unit of semiconductor maker Micron Technology Inc. from a suit accusing more than a dozen companies — including Sun Microsystems Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co. and IBM Corp. — of infringing a patent for memory device technology.

In a joint motion filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the parties said they had executed a stipulation for dismissal to release Micron Technology Services Inc. from the lawsuit without prejudice.
