Trade Secret, Contract Claims Nixed In Plastics Suit

Law360, New York (February 25, 2010, 12:42 PM EST) -- A federal judge has dismissed state law claims in a suit filed by polypropylene compound maker RheTech Inc. accusing a former employee of stealing trade secrets and patenting a wood-plastic composite he helped develop while under contract with the company.

Judge John Corbett O'Meara of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on Wednesday said he would not exercise jurisdiction over RheTech's state law trade secret, breach of contract and quiet title to invention claims because the parties were not diverse.
