J&J Unit Recalls 14,000 Blood Glucose Test Strips

Law360, New York (February 26, 2010, 4:57 PM ET) -- Johnson & Johnson unit LifeScan Inc. has recalled eight lots of its OneTouch SureStep blood glucose test strips — used by diabetics to monitor their glucose level — because the strips can produce falsely low readings.

In a recall announcement Wednesday, LifeScan estimated that the eight lots include about 14,000 possible defective strips sold between Aug. 1 and Jan. 28. The strips have been found to produce the low readings when blood glucose exceeds 400 mg/dL, the company said.
