Wash. Seeks Sanctions Against DOL In Overtime Suit

Law360, New York (March 05, 2010, 1:31 PM ET) -- Washington's Department of Social and Health Services has moved for sanctions in an overtime suit the U.S. Department of Labor brought on behalf of social workers in the Evergreen State, saying the federal agency has been ignoring court orders and improperly withholding information during discovery.

After winning government informant protection to not disclose the identity of witness employees, the DOL has further ignored court orders to provide neutral factual information regarding employees who were allegedly not paid overtime in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act,...
