Wal-Mart Settles Calif. Supercenter Pollution Cases

Law360, New York (March 8, 2010, 6:53 PM EST) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has agreed to install two rooftop solar-panel systems and integrate other clean technologies to settle a pair of lawsuits over proposed Supercenter developments in California.

Terms of the agreements, detailed in letters to the towns of Yucca Valley and Perris by plaintiff Center for Biological Diversity, include the installation of at least 250 kilowatts of rooftop solar panels and a $120,000 donation to land conservation efforts in the Mojave Desert.
