Fed. Circ. Affirms Invalidity Of Siemens Sensor Patent

Law360, New York (March 9, 2010, 2:01 PM EST) -- In a blow to electronics giant Siemens AG, a federal appeals court has affirmed a jury verdict that the patent Siemens accused disc drive maker Seagate Technology of infringing was invalid based on obviousness.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Tuesday handed down an opinion finding that the jury could have properly concluded that all asserted claims of the Siemens patent were obvious based on the testimony of Seagate's expert witness.
