OHIC Wins $6.1M Prejudgment Interest From Reinsurer

Law360, New York (March 10, 2010, 4:09 PM ET) -- A federal judge has granted OHIC Insurance Co. summary judgment in its bid for $6.1 million in prejudgment interest in a coverage fight with Employers Reinsurance Corp. over a medical negligence settlement against policyholder Children’s Health Systems Inc.

However, the reinsurer won summary judgment on OHIC's bid for more than $4.5 million in legal fees, postjudgment interest and expenses, according to a ruling issued Monday by Judge James L. Graham in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
