Doctor Files Patent Suit Against Tyco Healthcare

Law360, New York (December 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- An Ohio radiologist has filed a federal patent infringement lawsuit against the health care unit of Tyco International Ltd., accusing the company of violating two of his patents for biopsy devices.

The complaint against Tyco Healthcare Group LP was filed By Dr. Gregory W. Baran on Dec. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. It claims Tyco’s automatic-biopsy instrument, dubbed BioPince, infringes his intellectual property.
