Fujifilm, UPS Face False Patent Marking Qui Tam Suits

Law360, New York (March 11, 2010, 4:39 PM ET) -- People Protecting Patents LLC hauled Fujifilm Holdings Corp. into court Thursday over allegations that the company marks its disposable cameras with expired patents, following a similar suit the whistleblower filed against United Parcel Service Inc. the day before.

People Protecting lodged its qui tam action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, accusing Fujifilm and four subsidiaries of mislabeling the cameras in a bid to deceive the public and undermine competition.
