Bill Gives 30M More People Paid Sick Leave: Report

Law360, New York (March 11, 2010, 1:47 PM EST) -- A bill mandating access to paid sick leave would extend these benefits for the first time to 30.3 million American workers, with significant increases for vulnerable lower-wage, minority and female employees, the U.S. Congress' Joint Economic Committee says.

Enacting the Healthy Families Act, S. 1152 in the U.S. Senate and H.R. 2460 in the U.S. House of Representatives, would have a “substantial impact on job quality and security for American workers,” according to the JEC report released Wednesday.
