Dell Escapes Suit Over DVD Parental Control Patent

Law360, New York (March 11, 2010, 5:49 PM ET) -- Digital Choice of Texas LLC has dropped its infringement suit against Dell Inc. over a patent for parental control technology in DVD players.

The parties filed a motion to dismiss the suit with prejudice Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Each party will cover its own costs and attorneys' fees, according to the motion.

Representatives for Dell declined to comment on the dismissal, and representatives for Digital Choice could not immediately be reached Thursday.
