Shimadzu Resolves Caliper DNA Patent Suit

Law360, New York (March 15, 2010, 1:18 PM ET) -- Japanese medical technology company Shimadzu Corp. has reached a settlement in a patent infringement suit brought by Caliper Life Sciences Inc. over nearly a dozen patents used to study DNA and RNA.

The settlement was announced in a statement Monday from Caliper, and it resolves litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Attorneys for Caliper and Shimadzu could not immediately be reached to comment further on the settlement.
