Securities Litigation Yielded $21B In 2006: Survey

Law360, New York (December 29, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Securities litigation in the United States resulted in settlements and fines of $21 billion in 2006, up by more than a fifth compared with the preceding year, according to a survey by Securities Law360.

Reported settlements rose 22% compared with 2005, when defendants agreed to pay some $17.2 billion, according to our preliminary estimates.
