MetLife Resolves TQP Data Encryption Patent Suit

Law360, New York (March 19, 2010, 11:34 AM ET) -- Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. has become the latest defendant to settle in TQP Development LLC's wide-ranging patent infringement battle over online encrypted data transmission.

MetLife and TQP agreed to dismiss the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Thursday, saying they had struck a deal to settle, adjust and compromise all claims and counterclaims against one other.

Representatives for MetLife did not immediately return calls seeking comment on Friday, nor did counsel for TQP.
