Pepsi Pog Design Registration Invalid: EU Court

Law360, New York (March 22, 2010, 4:38 PM EDT) -- A European Union court has invalidated a PepsiCo Inc. design registration for a promotional pog toy, ruling on appeal that the beverage giant's design is too similar to another product design registered to a Spanish manufacturer.

The General Court on Thursday overturned a ruling from the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market's appeals board, which had rejected invalidity claims from Grupo Promer Mon-Graphic SA.
