Rio Tinto Workers Admit To Chinese Bribery Charges

Law360, New York (March 22, 2010, 1:03 PM EDT) -- An Australian and two Chinese employees of mining giant Rio Tinto Ltd. reportedly pled guilty Monday to accepting around $1 million in bribes each at the first day of their trial in a Shanghai court.

Stern Hu, the former head of Rio Tinto's Shanghai office, and local employees Wang Yong and Liu Caikui entered their pleas at a closed hearing of the Shanghai No. 1 Immediate People's Court, according to a report in the New York Times.
