Inventor Claims Microsoft's Zune Infringes Patents

Law360, New York (March 22, 2010, 6:00 PM EDT) -- An inventor who claims he contacted Microsoft Corp. in 2006 to discuss his idea for incorporating a downloading feature into the technology giant's Zune MP3 player is now suing for patent infringement.

Yavitz LLC, owned by inventor Edward Yavitz, filed suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, asserting two patents related to technology that combines a broadcast reception system with a computer.
