Sens. Grill Holder On Securities, Health, Antitrust

Law360, New York (April 14, 2010, 5:09 PM EDT) -- U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder faced skeptical questions on securities, health care and competition issues at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday morning, with senators questioning whether the U.S. Department of Justice's enforcement efforts were strong enough.

Early in the hearing — the latest of several held by the Judiciary Committee in order to oversee the DOJ — Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, asked Holder why the DOJ hadn't brought more criminal indictments over the securities frauds exposed by the financial crisis.
