SAP Loses Bid To Toss $139M Versata Patent Win

Law360, New York (March 29, 2010, 1:28 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has rejected SAP AG's request to have two Versata Software Inc. patents covering software technology ruled invalid, keeping intact a nearly $139 million jury award for Versata.

Magistrate Judge Charles Everingham IV denied SAP's motion for judgment as a matter of law on Thursday, ruling that the jury's finding that the that the two patents-in-suit did not violate the best mode requirement was supported by the evidence in the case.
