Plaintiffs' Lawyers Seek MDL For Pain Pump Suits

Law360, New York (March 26, 2010, 6:10 PM EDT) -- Attorneys for plaintiffs who allegedly developed a degenerative condition called chondrolysis after receiving anesthetic treatment through a pain pump have called for the consolidation of about 228 federal lawsuits, but some of the pain pump makers and drug companies opposed the move.

Several plaintiffs' lawyers on Thursday asked the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation at a courtroom hearing in downtown San Diego to combine the cases against I-Flow Corp., McKinley Medical LLC and other defendants.
