New Bill Would Force Carmakers To Share Repair Data

Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and Sam Brownback, R-Kan., are co-sponsoring legislation that aims to help independent automobile repair shops compete with brand-name dealerships by forcing carmakers to share access to detailed proprietary data on vehicles' electronic systems.
