Lubrizol, Insurer Settle Spat Over Superfund Cleanup

Law360, New York (March 30, 2010, 2:11 PM EDT) -- Lubrizol Corp. and Security Insurance Co. of Hartford have reached a deal in a suit over coverage for cleanup costs at a Texas Superfund site that used to serve as a petrochemical waste disposal facility.

Judge Marcia A. Crone of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas signed off Monday on an order granting the parties' joint motion to dismiss the case.

The settlement also included third-party defendant U.S. Fire Insurance Co., which Lubrizol said had issued it excess liability policies.
