Elan Asks ITC To Keep IPhone, IPad Out Of US

Law360, New York (March 30, 2010, 5:19 PM EDT) -- Elan Microelectronics Corp. has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to stop some of Apple Inc.'s electronic devices — including iPhones and the soon-to-be-launched iPad — from coming into the U.S., claiming they infringe a patent covering touch-screen technology.

Hsinchu, Taiwan-based Elan filed its complaint with the ITC on Monday, seeking a permanent exclusion order blocking the allegedly infringing devices from entering the U.S.
