Sun Settles Acacia Unit's Computer Processor IP Suit

Law360, New York (March 31, 2010, 3:40 PM ET) -- Acacia Research Corp. subsidiary Optimum Processing Solutions LLC has reached a settlement with Sun Microsystems Inc. in a patent infringement suit over computer processor technology.

Acacia lodged a stipulation dismissing Oracle Corp. unit Sun from the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia on Tuesday.

Attorneys for Optimum declined to comment on the settlements, as litigation is still pending against other defendants. Counsel for Sun could not be reached for comment.
