Ballard Spahr Leads Medegen In $225M CareFusion Deal

Law360, New York (April 5, 2010, 6:44 PM EDT) -- Medical device manufacturer CareFusion Corp. has agreed to shell out $225 million in cash to acquire Medegen Inc., a maker of disposable intravenous drug administration kits.

The deal will allow CareFusion to enter the $2 billion global market for these products, CareFusion chairman and CEO David Schlotterbeck said Monday.

“Medegen is an ideal strategic fit with CareFusion due to the complementary nature of our infusion product lines, R&D investments, and our focus on products that are backed by clinical evidence and differentiation,” Schlotterbeck said.
