Chinese Nanotechnology Patent Applications Soar

Law360, New York (October 10, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Chinese patent applications concerning nanotechnology now amount to 12% of the world's total, placing China in third place after the U.S. and Japan, Asia Pulse reported.

China's total applications for nanotechnology patents have surged from less than 1,000 in the decade before 2001, according to the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MST). China now has more than 2,400 such patents.
