Guidant Pleads Guilty In Defibrillator Safety Case

Law360, New York (April 6, 2010, 5:13 PM EDT) -- Boston Scientific Corp. subsidiary Guidant LLC has pled guilty to charges alleging it concealed safety problems with some of its cardiac defibrillators in violation of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.

The medical device maker pled guilty to two misdemeanor violations Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota as part of a settlement agreement with federal prosecutors, the U.S. Department of Justice said.
