Law Firm Mergers Start 2010 At A Trickle

Law360, New York (April 6, 2010, 4:34 PM EDT) -- Law firms remained hesitant to merge with one another in the first quarter of 2010, showing the lingering effects of the poor economy and credit crisis on the legal industry, according to a recent analysis.

In its quarterly merger analysis, legal management consulting firm Altman Weil Inc. said Tuesday that only eight new law firm combinations were announced in the U.S. during the first part of the year.
