Stanford Wins Latest Bid To Switch Attys In Fraud Case

Law360, New York (April 6, 2010, 7:25 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has again allowed accused fraudster Robert Allen Stanford to change the lawyers defending him against charges that he masterminded a $7 billion Ponzi scheme.

Judge David Hittner of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas at a Tuesday hearing approved Stanford's March 30 motion to substitute Michael M. Essmyer of Essmyer Tritico & Rainey LLP as lead counsel and Bob Bennett of Nguyen Joint Venture as co-counsel in the criminal case against him.
