Renault-Nissan, Daimler Tie-Up Targets Small Cars

Law360, New York (April 7, 2010, 2:38 PM EDT) -- In a bid to share costs of developing small-car technologies, the Renault SA and Nissan Motor Co. alliance and Daimler AG said Wednesday that they had reached a strategic cooperation pact that involved the automakers taking small stakes in each other through a share swap.

Under the deal, the Renault-Nissan Alliance would acquire a 3.1 percent stake in Daimler, and Daimler would obtain a 3.1 percent stake in Renault and a 3.1 percent stake in Nissan.
