Magnetek Sues Kirkland For Patent Malpractice

Law360, New York (April 7, 2010, 7:28 PM EDT) -- Magnetek Inc. has sued one-time counsel Kirkland & Ellis LLP for patent malpractice, claiming the law firm failed to research prior art that could have saved it from paying an $18 million arbitration award to an inventor who claimed the company infringed his electronic ballast patents.
