Maryland Fails Low-Wage Workers: Report

Law360, New York (January 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Maryland is not doing enough to prevent employers from cheating low-wage and immigrant workers out of wages, according to a new report.

CASA of Maryland, a minority rights group that fights poverty, released the report Monday that said unscrupulous employers used several methods to deny workers’ wages, such as improper deductions from paychecks, paying with bad checks, failing to pay minimum wage and not including overtime pay.
