Pro-Worker Ruling To Stand, AG Says

Law360, New York (January 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Ohio’s new attorney general broke with his predecessors Monday by saying he would not appeal a court decision that granted Ohioans injured at public relief jobs the same workers’ compensation rate as other injured employees.

Previously, the government had fought against giving more benefits to employees injured while working their way off welfare. But in his inaugural address, Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann said a state appeals court decision was correct and that the workers were not being compensated fairly.
