Wi-LAN Hits Apple, Intel With Bluetooth Patent Suit

Law360, New York (April 8, 2010, 2:10 PM EDT) -- Canadian licensing company Wi-LAN Inc. has accused several of the world's biggest electronics makers — including Apple Inc., Dell Inc., Intel Corp., Sony Corp. and LG Electronics Inc. — of infringing a patent related to Bluetooth technology.

Wi-LAN filed suit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, accusing the defendants of infringing the patent by either incorporating Bluetooth technology into computers or making circuit boards for those machines.
