UK Watchdog Hits Price-Fixers With Record $347M Fine

Law360, New York (April 16, 2010, 2:19 PM EDT) -- The U.K.'s Office of Fair Trading has fined two tobacco companies, Imperial Tobacco Group PLC and the Gallaher Group Ltd., and 10 British retailers £225 million ($347 million) over an alleged price-fixing scheme, the largest fine ever imposed under the country's Competition Act.
