Insurance Suit Numbers Hold Steady In 1st Quarter

Law360, New York (April 19, 2010, 7:48 AM ET) -- Despite a surge of litigation over Chinese drywall and financial-meltdown related claims, insurance lawsuit filings showed almost no increase in the first quarter of 2010 from the last three months of 2009, according to a Law360 review of federal court data.

The number of insurance coverage suits filed in January, February and March of this year rose just about 1 percent from the last three months of 2009, while case filings overall increased by about 5 percent during that time period, the data from federal court...
