Ricoh Must License Drive Patents To Quanta: Judge

Law360, New York (April 20, 2010, 12:30 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has denied Ricoh Co. Ltd.'s bid to enjoin Quanta Computer Inc. from selling patent-infringing rewritable disk drives for which the defendant has already been ordered to pay $14.5 million, ruling that the parties must negotiate a licensing deal over future use of the products.
