Movie Ticket Trading Plan Moves Closer To Approval

Law360, New York (April 21, 2010, 5:48 PM EDT) -- Organizers of the Hollywood Stock Exchange and their affiliates have moved a step closer in their plan to establish exchanges for trading in futures and derivatives contracts based on movie ticket sales, an investment concept that has attracted criticism from the entertainment industry and U.S. lawmakers.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced Tuesday that it had approved Cantor Futures Exchange LP as a contract market and affiliate Cantor Clearinghouse LP as a registered derivatives clearing organization.
