Motorola, RIM, Others Slammed With Phone Patent Suit

Law360, New York (April 23, 2010, 4:38 PM EDT) -- A subsidiary of Acacia Research Corp. has accused LG Electronics Inc., Motorola Inc., Research In Motion Ltd. and a slew of other cell phone manufacturers of infringing a patent that covers a method of limiting calls on phones.

Child Protect LLC filed suit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that many of the most popular cell phones and smartphones on the market unlawfully incorporate technology protected by U.S. Patent Number 7,532,715.
