Staffers' Porn Habits Could Put SEC On Hook: Attys

Law360, New York (April 23, 2010, 5:53 PM EDT) -- Reports that senior staffers at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission spent hours on the clock looking at online porn could not only hurt the agency's reputation but put it in legal hot water, employment lawyers say.

While the dust hasn't settled on the specific nature of the allegations, the SEC may have a hard time defending itself if offenders are high-ranking agents, according to Patrick Ritchey, an employment partner at Reed Smith LLP.
