Ted Olson Reps RNC In High Court 'Soft Money' Fight

Law360, New York (April 23, 2010, 7:04 PM EDT) -- Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP's Theodore Olson, former solicitor general under President George W. Bush, asked the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday on behalf of the Republican Party to overturn the Bush-era ban on "soft money" in the McCain-Feingold Act.

The Republican National Committee filed a jurisdictional statement and a motion asking the high court to expedite its review of the appeal, in the wake of the Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United v.
