Appeal Lodged In Ohio Title Insurance Antitrust Action

Law360, New York (April 26, 2010, 7:17 PM EDT) -- The plaintiffs in a consolidated class action accusing more than 20 title insurance companies of colluding to artificially raise the price of title insurance in Ohio have appealed a federal judge's decision to throw out their lawsuit.

The plaintiffs filed their notice of appeal in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio on Monday. On March 31, Judge Sara Lioi dismissed the case with prejudice, slightly altering a magistrate judge's recommendation that the case be dismissed without prejudice.
