Barclays Off Hook In Investment Firm's Toxic Asset Suit

Law360, New York (April 28, 2010, 5:31 PM EDT) -- Barclays Bank PLC, Solent Capital Partners LLP and Standard & Poor's Financial Services LLC parent The McGraw-Hill Cos. Inc. have won dismissal of an investment firm's lawsuit alleging the companies used certain structured investment vehicles as a “dumping ground” for toxic assets.

Judge Barbara Kapnick granted the defendants' motions to dismiss in the New York State Supreme Court on April 21, according to a ruling filed with the court Monday.
