MoonScoop Contract Claims Nixed In Care Bear IP Spat

Law360, New York (April 29, 2010, 7:21 PM ET) -- American Greetings Corp. has won summary judgment on MoonScoop SAS' contract and promissory estoppel claims in the entertainment company's case accusing American Greetings of backing out of a $95 million deal to buy intellectual property covering the Care Bear and Strawberry Shortcake characters in bad faith.

Judge James Gwin of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio signed off on an opinion and order Wednesday granting American Greeting's motion for summary judgment.
