Sequoia Dropped From E-Voting Patent Case

Law360, New York (May 04, 2010, 12:04 PM ET) -- A federal judge has signed off on the dismissal of Sequoia Voting Systems Inc. from a patent infringement suit brought by Franklin Inventions LLC over electronic ballot technology.

Judge T. John Ward of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Thursday approved Franklin's voluntary dismissal of Sequoia without prejudice, about a month after the defendant asked out of the case on the grounds that it did not have sufficient contacts with Texas to satisfy the requirements for personal jurisdiction.
