AstraZeneca Initiates 9 IP Suits Over Crestor ANDAs

Law360, New York (May 3, 2010, 4:13 PM EDT) -- AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP has launched separate patent infringement actions against nine rival drugmakers — including Apotex Corp., Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. — seeking to block their attempts to release a generic version of blockbuster cholesterol drug Crestor.

The nine amended complaints filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware accuse Apotex, Mylan, Teva, Sandoz Inc., Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., Aurobindo Pharma Ltd., Par Pharmaceutical Inc., Glenmark Generics Inc. and Cobalt Pharmaceuticals Inc. of infringing U.S. Patent Numbers 6,858,618...
