Earthjustice Pans Calif. Proposal To Allow Pesticide

Law360, New York (May 3, 2010, 1:14 PM EDT) -- Earthjustice has blasted a California regulatory agency's proposal to authorize the use of the pesticide methyl iodide, which the environmental law group is seeking to ban nationwide because of its health risks.

Earthjustice said Friday that the decision by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation to propose registering methyl iodide, also called iodomethane, for use in the state "would result in exposures to a large number of the public and thus would have a significant adverse impact on the public health.”
